Victoria Park and Watercress Fields

Victoria Park, and the wider Watercress Fields, is a traditional Victorian Urban Park sold to the Borough Council in 1898 and opened in 1899. The park is a registered park and gardens with a listed fountain, secret garden, adventure play area, river corridor and many lost elements hoping to be restored under the part lottery funded masterplan works. The first element of the work is to provide a new Visitor and Community Centre thereby opening the gateway to formal and informal play spaces and games areas together with the future restoration of the heritage elements such as the Hubert Fountain.
